The Royal Mint
The Royal Mint in its present form was opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 1968. However, its tradition is much older and goes back more than a thousand years. Based in Llantrisant, South Wales, the company mints coins not only for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, but also for dozens of countries around the world. It has a production capacity of 90 million coins a week. The themes that are typically British, as well as those that are downright global, appear in their relief.
