Investment Coins Charles IV.

Few have left such a mark on our history as Charles IV. He was famous as a fearless warrior, but he was also an enlightened thinker who knew five languages and wrote an illuminating autobiography. He loved women, wine and jousting, but he was well aware of the importance of education and founded the oldest university north of Italy and east of Paris. He was the first of the Bohemian kings to be crowned Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, but although he became one of the most powerful men in the world, he did not forget the Bohemian lands. He honoured the legacy of his Přemyslid ancestors and turned the impoverished city of Prague into one of the grandest cities in Europe. He built castles, vineyards and spas all over the kingdom. He had a breathtaking crown made for the future Czech kings and secured them a privileged position in the multinational empire...
