Product description

Guardians of czech mountains

The Czech Mint dedicated the silver medal from the Guardians of the Czech mountains series to the third good spirit which is the ruler of the Orlické Mountains named Rampušák.

The Orlické Mountains
have always been ruled by the benevolent and kind princess Kačenka, who helped the honest and the poor people and punished the loafers and the dishonest people. She had a whole retinue of fairy-tale creatures around her, but she was still lonely. Krakonoš, the ruler of the neighbouring mountains, first sought her favour, but failed because Kačenka chose his rival Rampušák. Neighbourly relations between the Orlické Mountains and the Giant Mountains have been strained ever since. While the princess is the ruler of the Orlické Mountains in summer, Rampušák, who is the patron saint of sportsmen and the mountain service, takes care of them in winter.

Academic sculptor Majka Wichnerová
has given the series an almost fairytale atmosphere. The obverse side of the commemorative medal presents a view of the nature of the Orlické Mountains, supplemented with the inscription STRÁŽCI ČESKÝCH HOR - RAMPUŠÁK - ORLICKÉ HORY. The reverse side is dominated by Rampušák in the form of a giant skier with snow clouds in his wake. In the snowdrift under the trees there is the inscription HORSKÁ SLUŽBA (MOUNTAIN SERVICE).

The collector's series will feature a total of six mountain ghosts from across the country.
