Kapka naděje is one of the oldest Czech foundations. Since 2000, it has been helping to save the lives of children with serious illnesses and has implemented hundreds of charity projects during its existence. The charity event, which is the result of the cooperation between Kapka naděje and the Czech Mint, takes the form of a silver mandala of love designed by the foundation's founder Vendula Pizingerová.

A mandala is a mystical pattern. Its name, which comes from ancient Indian Sanskrit, can be translated simply as a circle, but its meaning is not so simple. It represents infinity, perfection, balance, unity, ... Although people associate mandalas primarily with the civilizations of South Asia, variations can be found across time, cultures, and religious and philosophical systems - just look at the windows of European cathedrals or the dream catchers of American Indians. They are a tool for relaxation, meditation and self-discovery, but also for problem solving or wish fulfillment. Because all of us need love in our lives, it has become the main motif of the mandala...

Love has many forms, and while the English language is satisfied with one word, the ancient Greeks had seven. Eros represents passionate and uncontrollable love. Ludus is light-hearted, playful love - flirting. Pragma means mature love that lasts for ages. Philia signifies platonic friendly love - mutual admiration and respect. Storge expresses caring maternal love. Agape represents sacrificial love for all fellow human beings. Philautia symbolizes self-love - self-respect and self-knowledge.

The charity medal is dominated by a coloured motif - a red mandala of love inspired by the logo of the Drops of Hope. "If our activity helped to save just one human life, it would be worth it," says the author of the mandala, Vendula Pizingerová.
