This two-ounce silver coin featuring the ancient goddess Hera is a unique work of art and a collector's rarity.

Hera was the supreme goddess of the ancient Greek pantheon. She enchanted her husband Zeus, ruler of all gods, with her beauty, which could easily rival that of Athena, goddess of wisdom, and Aphrodite, goddess of love. She was the patroness of marriage and childbirth, and she herself became a mother. With Zeus, she gave birth to the god of war, Ares, and the divine blacksmith, Hephaestus. People revered her as the protector of the family and guardian of the sanctity of marriage. Although she was a model of devotion, she had to endure frequent infidelity. Zeus was famous for his amorous adventures, in which he imaginatively seduced various goddesses and mortals. Jealous Hera could not punish him—Zeus was too powerful—so she took out her anger on Zeus's lovers and their offspring, whom she unjustly avenged. Despite the disputes between the spouses, Zeus recognized Hera as his co-ruler. He often consulted with her and confided his secrets to her, confirming her privileged position at the top of Olympus...

The reverse side shows the charming Hera blessing a married couple. She is handing the pregnant woman a pomegranate, a symbol of fertility and rebirth. The scene is watched by Hera's peacock, the embodiment of authority and wisdom, whose majestic feathers are studded with aquamarine crystals. Another such stone can be found in Hera's necklace. The richly decorated obverse side is dedicated to the essential attributes of the coin's issuer, the island of Niue – it bears its national emblem, the nominal value of 5 DOLLARS (NZD) and the year of issue 2025. All this is highlighted in high relief decorated with patina and selective gilding.
