These charming and educated companions were able to enchant not only with their appearance, but above all with their broad-mindedness, the art of conversation, and masterful command of traditional activities—dance, singing, playing musical instruments, and the tea ceremony. The chosen women learned all this from an early age and throughout their lives. In a world that is constantly rushing forward, geisha have become increasingly rare oases of peace and tranquility, devotion and discretion, but fortunately they have not disappeared completely. In the historic districts of a few Japanese cities, you can still encounter women who devote themselves to their ancient role with humility and pride. The reverse side features a beautiful geisha with perfect makeup and flawless hairstyle. The coloring technology highlights not only her lovely face, but also her luxurious kimono and sakura together with lily flowers. Another decorative element is the gilded fan. The richly decorated obverse side is dedicated to the essential attributes of the coin's issuer, the island of Niue – it bears its coat of arms, the nominal value of 5 DOLLARS (NZD) and the year of issue 2025. All this stands out in high relief embellished with patina.
