Green Lantern is another superhero featured on an ounce silver coin from DC's series dedicated to classic comics.

Hal Jordan's life was fatefully affected by two plane crashes. Firstly, he witnessed his father´s death, but decided to follow in his footsteps and become a fighter pilot. Secondly, he met an alien who landed on Earth. The alien, named Abin Sur, was mortally wounded, so he sought someone to succeed him. By the direction of fate, he chose the honest and fearless Hal, to whom he gave his ring and lantern. These powerful artefacts turned an ordinary man into one of the most powerful beings in the universe - a superhero named Green Lantern. Hal can fly and materialize anything he imagines thanks to technology that converts willpower into green energy. He uses this incredible power not only to protect his home planet, but the entire cosmic Sector 2814 in which Earth is located. Some green guardians of intergalactic order, as well as the Earth superheroes of the Justice League, which Hal helped to establish helped him in his fight against evil.

Green Lantern appears twice on the reverse side of the coin, accompanied by a flying figure in combat pose. The iconic symbol of the Space Corps appears in the relief. The obverse side is dedicated to the necessary attributes of the issuer, which is the island of Niue - i.e. the national emblem, the nominal value of TWO DOLLARS (NZD) and the year of issue 2023. The mintage, which is officially licensed by DC Comics, is the work of the New Zealand Mint.
