Mikulov is another town to which the gold miniature coin of the Czech Mint, set in a replica of a historical postcard, is dedicated.

South Moravia has an extremely rich history - it guards the secrets of mammoth hunters, ancient Celts and Roman legionaries who, according to legend, started growing grapes here. Mikulov, situated close to the Austrian border, has become a traditional centre of winemaking, which is inseparably linked to Moravian culture and economy. Over the centuries, various cultural and religious movements have met here, giving rise to an extremely valuable and extensive collection of historical buildings. Mikulov Square and the adjacent streets are lined with townhouses, the oldest of which have a Renaissance core. Several buildings of the Jewish quarter have also been preserved. The valley, surrounded by vineyards and white limestone hills, is flanked by three landmarks - Chateau Hill (Zámecký vrch) with a Baroque castle, Goat Hill (Kozí vrch) with a Gothic defensive tower and Holy Hill ( Svatý kopeček) with the Baroque Chapel of St. Sebastian. All these sights can be found on a lithograph postcard from the end of the 19th century, which served as a template for the coin packaging.

The medal maker Kristýna Šánová, DiS., dedicated the reverse side of the coin to the view of Svatý Kopeček near Mikulov with the pilgrimage chapel of St. Šebestián. The composition is supplemented with the inscription MIKULOV. As the coins of the Czech Mint are issued with a foreign licence from the island of Niue, they bear the name and portrait of King Charles III on the obverse side, the nominal value of 2 DOLLARS (NZD) and the year of issue 2024.

The original issue represents an affordable collector's piece that will delight numismatists, philocartographers, tourists and Mikulov patriots.
