The traditional ducats of the Czech Republic were dedicated to the attributes that define and represent our sovereign state both inside and outside in 2018 in order to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the independent Czech Republic. The president's office became the motif of gold two-ducat.

The president is an enlightened head of state, its symbol and a representative who represents his citizens at international level. National presidential competences are limited and often only formal. However, the prime importance of the president's personality lies not in his powers, but in his authority, charisma and conciliation, in being a man who openly speaks to the people and shapes the atmosphere in society and an individual who has the ability to intervene in a certain, usually the most serious moment.

This two-ducat is the work of the leading medal maker and academic sculptor Zbyněk Fojtů. He expressed the presidential office on the obverse side of the mintage through a collage composed of the Czech flag, presidential standards and the panorama of the Prague Castle, which is the seat of the head of state. The inscriptions on the obverse side present TWO-DUCAT OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC - PRESIDENT. The reverse side is dominated by heraldic animals, which are the Czech lion, the Moravian eagle and the Silesian eagle in an original art concept surrounded by the text of 2018 - 25 YEARS OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC.

The gold mintage weighing two ducats with the year 2018 is based on a mere 100 pieces.
